SICE
Established in January 2018, School of Information and Communication Engineering (SICE) is home to a vibrant community of over 5,000 students and 300 faculty members. Among our faculty are over 50 distinguished national talents, including academicians, 5 IEEE Fellows, 3 Optica Fellows, and 1 SPIE Fellow. This scale and expertise make SICE one of the largest and most formidable schools in the global information and communication landscape.
Our programs are recognized among the world’s elite. Our Electrical and Electronic Engineering program is ranked 4th globally by the U.S. News subject rankings, and our Communication Engineering program is ranked 3rd globally by the Academic Ranking of World Universities 2024. Nationally, our discipline was awarded the highest rating (A+) in the China Discipline Evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
Our research is anchored in four pivotal areas: Wireless Communication and Ubiquitous Interconnection, Optical Fiber Sensing and Communication, Microwave Sensing, and Multimedia Information Processing. SICE hosts several key provincial and ministerial-level research centers. Building on our disciplinary strengths, we are at the forefront of integrating AI-driven technology. This focus allows us to pioneer advances in cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields and accelerate the industrial application of “AI+” across our core disciplines.
SICE is a hub for global collaboration, featuring three international cooperation centers. More than 30 of our faculty members hold key positions in major domestic and international academic organizations, with over 100 serving on the editorial boards of prestigious academic journals. Annually, we host and co-organize multiple high-profile international academic conferences. We actively facilitate global engagement, supporting nearly 300 faculty and students in overseas exchanges, while in turn welcoming over 50 visiting professors to SICE to deliver courses, conduct seminars, and enrich our academic discourse.
